BOUNTY GOES POP AGAIN

Dancehall icon Bounty Killer and Grammy award-winning producers Sly and Robbie have teamed up with UK-based pop artiste/producer Deewaan, to release a collaboration called ‘Runnin It Wild’, which they believe has the potential to become a world-wide hit.

The song is expected to bring Bounty back into the pop market, following his highly successful collaboration with No Doubt in 2001, another song which featured works from musical geniuses Sly and Robbie.

Mavado Freed Of Assault Charges

Mavado was this morning freed of assault charges.

Vado armed with his legal team appeared in the Halfway Tree R-M court to answer to charges of assault occasioning bodily harm. Attorney at law Tameka Harris tells Music News that the parties agreed to mediate the matter.

Mavado has since tweeted “Charges against me dismissed in court today, to God be the glory.”

All this stems from a shooting incident that left the Mavado’s childhood friend dead.

THE top performer at Rebel Salute — inside the Kaiser Sports Club at Alligator Pond, Manchester — was the audience.

REGGAE star Buju Banton is now being transferred from the Pinellas County Jail in Florida to a correctional facility in Mississippi to begin serving his 10-year sentence.

Banton will be taken to the Adams County Correctional Center in Natchez, Mississippi.

Defence attorney David Oscar Markus, who represented the embattled artiste, in his drug trial, told the Sunday Observer that United States magistrate James Moody recommended that Banton serve his sentence at a facility in Florid...

DANCEHALL Deejay Mavado, real name 'David Brooks', was ordered to return to court in late September when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court to answer to charges of assault and malicious destruction of property this morning.

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett has reported solid bookings in hotels across western Jamaica as a result of this year's staging of Reggae Sumfest.

"Bookings are very strong and it's further indication that mega events like these do bring heads to beds," the tourism minister quipped.

DANCEHALL superstar Vybz Kartel is looking for love — this time through the staging of a reality dating show entitled Teacha's Pet.

A 'teaser' for the reality show hit the Internet this past week and has been creating a buzz online.

TAMPA, Florida — Reggae Star Buju Banton was today sentenced to 10 years at the Sam M Gibbons Federal Court, four months after his conviction.
